Copywriter mode
Copywriter is a project role for a person who writes the text but should not touch the sitemap: they fill in the content of the pages and the SEO fields, and they cannot add, rename, move or delete anything on the artboard.
Make someone a copywriter
- Click Share in the top-right corner of the artboard.
- Invite the person by email, or find them in the list of project members below the invite field.
- Open the dropdown in their row and pick Copywriter.
The roles in that list are Viewer, Commenter, Copywriter and Editor. An invited person becomes an Editor by default, so the role has to be set for everyone you want to keep to the text. It applies at once — no new invite is needed, and the person sees the change the next time they open the project.
What a copywriter sees
The project opens as usual, with a copywriter badge next to the project name in the header. The artboard itself behaves as read-only: pages cannot be added, renamed, recoloured, moved or deleted, and the tools for sticky notes, attachments, external links and the AI assistant are not available.
What a copywriter can change
The content of a page. Point at a page on the artboard and click the Content icon next to it — on pages that already have content or comments the icon is always visible. The content window opens with the blocks of that page, and the copywriter writes in any of them. Adding and removing blocks stays with the editors, so it is worth laying the blocks out before the copywriter starts.
SEO fields. Switch on SEO mode with the last icon of the bottom toolbar and select a page: Title, Meta Description, Slug, H1 Header, Keywords, Page intent and Additional Tags are all editable.
Comments. A copywriter comments on pages and blocks like any other member.
Everything is saved as it is typed and reaches the rest of the team live, the same as an editor's work.
The role wins over the link
The role belongs to the person, not to the link. Even when the project link is set so that anyone with it can edit, a member marked as Copywriter keeps content-only access. The other way round is not possible: the link itself cannot be set to copywriter, only a member of the project can.
Plans
The Copywriter role is part of the Team plan. Inviting people to a project is free and unlimited on every plan — see How to add editors to your project? and Sharing your project, and our plans at Pricing.
