Project statuses

A status shows at a glance where a sitemap stands: still a draft, waiting for review, or approved by the client. It sits on the project card on your dashboard, so everyone in the workspace can see it without opening the sitemap.

Set a status

On the dashboard:

  1. Point at a project card and click the gear icon.
  2. Choose Status.
  3. Pick a status from the list.

Inside the sitemap the same list is under the project menu (the project icon in the top-left corner) → File → Status.

The status appears as a coloured label at the top of the project card, and next to the date when the dashboard is in list view. A project has one status at a time; picking another one replaces it.

To remove the status, open the list and click the status that is already checked.

Your own statuses

Every workspace starts with three statuses: Draft, In review and Approved. You can change them to fit how your team works:

  • Add a status. Click Add new… at the bottom of the list, type a name, pick a colour and press Enter. The new status is set on the project right away.
  • Rename, recolour or reorder. Point at a status and click the three dots next to it: Rename, Change color, Move up and Move down.
  • Delete. Same menu, Delete. Projects that had this status are left without one.

The list belongs to the workspace, not to a single project. Your personal workspace has its own list, and each team has one shared list: a status added or renamed in a team shows up for everyone in that team.

Who can set a status

  • In your personal workspace, the owner of the project.
  • In a team workspace, team Admins, Managers and Members. Copywriters can see the status but cannot change it.

People invited to a single project cannot change its status. Statuses work on every plan.

Good to know

  • Statuses are for sitemaps: you cannot set one on a Sitemap audit report, a template or an archived project.
  • A duplicated project starts without a status.
  • When a project moves to another workspace (to a team, back to personal, or is transferred to another person) its status is cleared, because the new workspace has its own list.
