Publishing a website

Octopus.do allows creating a simple website from your project - it only takes a minute to have your project wrapped in a minimal design and launched live.

Instructions:

  1. Click on a ▶ icon in the top-right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Publish. If you have multiple tabs, the website will be created from the currently open tab
  3. When published, the modal window will turn to settings

  1. Copy link to your new website
  2. Search engine indexing. Disabled by adding a robots.txt file
  3. Remove Made with Octopus badge. Available on Pro and Team plans
  4. Update website, and publish all changes made since the publication date
  5. Stop publishing

Please note:

  • Website navigation indent is different for up to 5 levels, anything deeper will have the same indent as its parent page
  • Sections are not visually separated in the navigation
  • If published tab is deleted, the website remains available until stopped or updated
  • Deleting a project also deletes the published website
  • Archiving a project deletes the published website
  • If attachments (e.g., images) are deleted in the content view, they remain on the published website. Deleting them from the attachments list in the project settings removes them from the site
  • For projects with multiple tabs, tab selection options appear in the publication settings
